A leading independent school near Henley-on-Thames is seeking a part-time Healthcare Assistant to join their Medical Wing team. This role involves supporting the Senior Nurse and providing care to students, ensuring their health and wellbeing while promoting an inclusive environment. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, energetic and empathetic Healthcare Assistant to join our Medical Wing team working 2 days per week (7.45am to 6.00pm).
Working collaboratively with the Senior Nurse and Nurses, the Healthcare Assistant will administer first aid and assist with patient care, including simple clinical procedures. The role also includes keeping and updating computerised and paper records appropriately, assisting with dispensing medications under the direction of the Senior Nurse, in line with the school medication protocols.
Applicants must be a team player, empathetic, approachable, an excellent communicator, well organised and demonstrate initiative with a good sense of humour. Essential to the role is a high level of confidentiality and integrity. Experience of working with young people in a pastoral or medical setting would be an advantage.
Shiplake College is an independent boarding and day school for just around 540 pupils aged 11 to 18. There has been a co-educational Sixth Form since 1998 and since September 2023 girls have been welcomed into Year 7 as the College became fully co-educational.
