Role Summary

We are seeking a Healthcare Assistant to join our Outpatients department. This is a bank role working on an "as and when required" basis, supporting staffing during busy periods and covering staff absences.

Responsibilities

1. Assist patients with personal hygiene, washing, dressing, toileting, oral care, and mobility, respecting their dignity.
2. Support patients with eating, drinking, and nutritional documentation.
3. Provide comfort and emotional support to patients and relatives.
4. Carry out routine observations such as blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, temperature, oxygen saturation, and blood glucose levels (post-training).
5. Support basic clinical procedures including wound care, catheter care, pressure area prevention, and mobility aids.
6. Prepare and maintain clinical areas and equipment.
7. Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure safe and efficient patient care.

Candidate Requirements

1. Previous experience in care or health support roles is desirable.
2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a caring attitude.
3. Ability to follow instructions and escalate concerns appropriately.
4. Basic literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
5. Physical ability to perform moving and handling tasks.
6. NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) is desirable.
7. Knowledge of safeguarding, infection control, and confidentiality procedures.
