Marie Curie is the UK’s leading end-of-life charity, providing community nursing and hospice care across all four nations, along with information and support on dying, death, and bereavement. Our research advances understanding of good end-of-life care and our campaigns advocate for a better quality of life for those living with terminal illnesses.
Currently, we reach only about 10% of those at the end of life, with one in four terminally ill individuals in the UK not receiving the care they need. Our mission for the next five years is to close this gap by:
Your role in our mission…
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our community team in London, primarily based at the Roy Shaw Centre. You will provide holistic, person-centred, end-of-life care and support to patients and their loved ones.
Your duties will include monitoring and assisting in maintaining patients’ skin integrity and personal hygiene, conducting nutrition assessments, attending to comfort needs, supporting mobility, monitoring vitals, and promoting a clean, safe environment.
You will engage in person-centred conversations, practice empathetic communication, and deliver high-quality personal care to enhance wellbeing.
Job Structure: 12 Months Fixed Term Contract
Hours: 37.5 Hours per Week, Monday-Friday, Day Shifts
Salary: £24,169 per annum, plus High-Cost Area Supplement
Location: Hybrid working – Home / Roy Shaw Centre, London
