Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Healthcare Assistant to support a GP practice in Towcester. The role involves assisting the clinical team with routine procedures, patient assessments and day-to-day treatment room activity in a busy primary care environment.

You will help manage patient flow, support core clinical duties and contribute to high-quality care delivery, with emphasis on accurate records, safe observations and effective communication with patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Prior HCA experience in primary care or the NHS.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Comfortable carrying out clinical observations.
• Good communication and patient interaction skills.
• Basic IT competence for clinical system documentation.
• Enhanced DBS

Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation.
• Supporting with treatment room procedures
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained)
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required
