Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a proactive Healthcare Assistant to join a GP practice in Leicester. You will support the clinical team with routine procedures, patient assessments and day-to-day treatment room activity, ensuring smooth session delivery.

In this locum role, you will help manage patient flow, assist with core clinical duties, and contribute to high-quality care delivery within an organised primary care environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as HCA in primary care or NHS.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Comfortable carrying out clinical observations.
• Excellent communication and patient interaction skills.
• Basic IT competence for clinical system documentation.
• Enhanced DBS clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation.
• Support with treatment room procedures.
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained).
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments.
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion.
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system.
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required.
