Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a proactive Healthcare Assistant to support a GP practice in Nottingham. The role involves assisting with routine clinical duties, patient assessments and day-to-day treatment room activity.

You will help manage patient flow in a well-supported primary care environment, ensuring smooth sessions and high-quality care delivery. Ad-hoc or regular weekly sessions with morning/afternoon slots are available.

Qualifications

• Prior HCA experience in primary care or the NHS.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Comfortable carrying out clinical observations.
• Good communication and patient interaction skills.
• Basic IT competence for clinical system documentation.
• Enhanced DBS checked.

Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation.
• Supporting with treatment room procedures.
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained).
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments.
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion.
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system.
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required.
