Job summary

Diaverum's Blackburn Dialysis Unit is hiring a Healthcare Assistant to support renal patients with compassionate, high-quality care. You will follow Diaverum procedures and participate in our in-house education program, 'd Academy', to develop your skills.

The role is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, based on an on-site schedule from 6:30am to 11:30pm with no night or Sunday shifts. A competitive salary up to £25,086 plus benefits and paid breaks helps you grow within a patient-centered renal

Qualifications

• GCSE level or equivalent required.
• NVQ Level 2 in Health or Social Care; level 3 encouraged.
• Experience in hospital/healthcare setting preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean equipment following training.
• Prepare supplies and packs for dialysis treatment.
• Conduct health checks with patients before and after dialysis.
• Escort patients to clinical and waiting areas.

As a Healthcare Assistant at our Blackburn Dialysis Unit, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care following Diaverum procedures, ultimately improving our patients' quality of life. Your Responsibilities:

• Maintaining clean equipment following proper training.
• Preparing supplies and packs for treatment.
• Conducting health checks with patients before and after dialysis.
• Escorting patients to clinical and waiting areas.
• Serving refreshments during treatments.

Our Requirements:

• Must be educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
• Minimum NVQ level 2 in Health; Social Care or equivalent (preferably working towards level 3).
• Ideally, previous experience in a hospital and healthcare setting.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• A positive and dynamic approach to delivering safe and effective care.
• Excellent communication skills (oral + written) with fluency in English.

• Full-time position, 37.5 hours per week.
• Monday to Saturday, with shift hours from 6:30am to 11:30pm (please note there are no nights or Sunday working).
• Competitive Salary of up to £25,086 depending on dialysis experience.
• Overtime paid at time and a half after completing full-time hours (150 hours every 4 weeks).
• Paid breaks.
