Job summary

The Saxon Clinic in Milton Keynes, part of Circle Health Group, is hiring a Healthcare Assistant on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, with a flexible shift pattern to cover outpatient services.

You will assist patients with personal care, support nutrition and mobility, take routine observations after training, and work with nurses and admin teams to ensure safe, patient-centred care. NVQ Level 2/3 desirable; good communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a care or health support role (hospital, care home, community, or domiciliary).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with a caring, compassionate attitude.
• Ability to follow instructions and elevate concerns appropriately.
• Basic literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
• Physically able to undertake duties including moving and handling tasks.
• NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal hygiene, washing, dressing, toileting, oral care, and mobility needs, respecting their preferences and dignity.
• Help patients with eating, drinking, and nutritional support, including documenting intake where appropriate.
• Provide comfort and emotional support to patients and relatives, creating a caring and safe environment.
• Carry out and accurately record routine observations such as blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, temperature, oxygen saturation, and blood glucose levels (after appropriate training).
• Support basic clinical procedures, including wound care setup, assisting with catheter care, pressure area prevention, and mobility aids.
• Prepare and maintain clinical areas, including trolleys, beds, and equipment in readiness for patient use.
• Work collaboratively with nurses, doctors, therapists, and admin teams to support safe and efficient patient care

Salary: Up to £25,500.00 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

We have an opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join their team of staff in the Outpatients department.

This is a full-time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.
