We'd like you to join us as a Healthcare Assistant at our service Murdostoun in Newmains, Wishaw.

We have an exciting opportunity for Support Workers to join our friendly and experienced specialist brain injury and neurological care service in Newmains, Wishaw.

We provide individualised assessment and intensive rehabilitation to help people recover from a brain injury. Our goal is always to achieve the best possible outcomes in terms of independence and quality of life.

Murdostoun Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre provides specialist care for up to 46 residents at any one time.

We have a minibus for appointments and outings, a state-of-the-art therapy pool to help residents regain cognitive abilities, a specially designed therapy kitchen for learning new skills, and a gymnasium to encourage activity and socialization.

We are proud to be accredited as an approved provider of specialist Brain Injury Care by the Headway Brain Injury Association.

What you'll be working:

We offer full and part-time hours.

What you'll be doing:

• Build relationships with patients that are open and two-way.
• Support patients in their rehabilitation programmes.
• Establish effective communication methods with patients, reducing barriers when necessary.
• Assist patients with mealtimes when needed.
• Support with activities of daily living and personal care.
• Report any issues to the clinical team.
• Accurately record work activities.

What you'll have:

• A genuine interest in providing person-centred care for our young people.
• Effective communication skills at all levels.
• Experience in the care sector or mental health is advantageous but not essential.
• Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.
