Job Description for Senior Healthcare Assistant at Murdostoun Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre

We are looking for a Senior Support Worker to join our friendly and experienced team at our specialist brain injury and neurological care service in Newmains, Wishaw.

We provide individualized assessments and intensive rehabilitation to help people recover from brain injuries. Our goal is to achieve the best possible outcomes in independence and quality of life.

Murdostoun Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre offers specialist care for up to 46 residents. We feature a minibus for appointments and outings, a state-of-the-art therapy pool, a therapy kitchen for skill learning, and a gymnasium to promote activity and socialization. We are proud to be accredited as an approved provider of Brain Injury Care by the Headway Brain Injury Association.

What you'll be working:

Full-time hours

What you'll be doing:

  • Supporting clients with daily activities
  • Leading shifts by maintaining appropriate staffing levels
  • Supporting care plans and establishing routines
  • Updating risk assessments and person-centered plans with the service manager
  • Ensuring clients feel safe and stable in their daily care
  • Providing personal care as required
  • Covering all aspects of the support worker role to meet service needs
  • Attending mandatory training and administering medication if required
  • Supporting service users with physical disabilities using trained techniques and aids

What you'll have:

  • Strong organizational, time management, planning, and communication skills
  • Flexible, professional, and positive multi-site working approach
  • Level 3 NVQ or QCF Diploma in Health & Social Care or willingness to work towards
  • Reliability in attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Self-confidence and ability to handle challenging situations
  • Driving license preferred
  • Ability to address employee issues fairly and consistently
  • Successful candidates will undergo an Enhanced DBS check
