What you will be doing

You will join an inclusive and supportive team that provides care to people with a range of mental health conditions, using your knowledge and skills to assist their recovery and help them lead valued, fulfilled lives.

Your daily tasks will include interacting with service users, supporting, encouraging, and motivating them with their recovery and treatment goals, such as daily living tasks and community involvement. You will carry out duties assigned by the MDT, update patient records, respond to incidents, support mealtimes, and ensure a clean and safe environment.

This environment can be challenging at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience, and vigilance are essential. It is highly rewarding to see individuals improve because of your support, knowing you have made a difference in their lives.

Shift Pattern

12.5-hour shifts, 3-4 days a week including nights and weekends, totaling 37.5 hours per week.

Where you will be working

Location: Ballington Gardens, Leek, Staffordshire ST13 5LW

Ballington House is a 13-bed mental health rehabilitation hospital for women with complex mental health needs.

The patient pathway at Ballington House includes three phases: assessment (accepting help), rehabilitation (believing, trying, and learning), and community phase-out (self-reliance). Patients typically progress from the ground floor to the first floor and then to a two-bedroom apartment on the first floor.

You will work alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, psychologists, occupational therapists, nurses, and support workers.
