Job summary

Windsor House Group Practice in Leeds area invites applications for a Health Care Assistant on a fixed-term maternity cover basis. The role is hands-on, with duties including weight/height/BP checks, phlebotomy, wound dressings, injections, ECGs, and infection control, across a 20k+ patient list.

The post requires NVQ3 in HSC, GCSEs, and experience using SystmOne; training will support integration into a supportive multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care is required.
• GCSE Maths and English at grade D or above.
• Good general education standards and experience with SystmOne.

Responsibilities

• Weight, height and BP checks.
• Testing and handling of clinical specimens e.g. urine dipstick.
• NHS health checks.
• Assist in minor surgical procedures.
• Health promotion.
• Dressings and treatment room procedures.
• Act as a chaperone.
• Diabetic foot checks.
• ECG's.
• QOF reviews.
• Flu, pneumonia, B12, Shingles IM injections.
• Ensure infection control in treatment and consulting rooms.
• Phlebotomy.
• Vaccine / cold chain storage, monitoring and recording.
• Participate in practice audit as directed by management.
• Participate in local initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient care.
• Support and participate in shared learning within the practice.

This role is fixed term for 12 months (Maternity cover) - 1 or 2 days per week.

Windsor House Group Practice is a large GP Practice with 3 x surgeries based in Leeds (Morley, Churwell and Drighlington) with a list size of over 20,000 patients.

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic person to join our clinical team as a trained Healthcare Assistant.

The role is very hands on and requires a high degree of accuracy, confidentiality, and ability to perform all the task require, which includes bending, lifting and moving.

We are a very friendly and forward thinking Practice within the Leeds area with a list size of approximately 20000 patients.

Our multi-disciplinary team includes 12 GP's, 10 registrars, 2 Clinical Pharmacists and Pharmacists Technicians, Practice Nurses, HCAs all supported by a strong administration and reception team(s). Our aim is to deliver good quality healthcare to our patients.
