Job summary

Empowering U is recruiting Healthcare Assistants to support a female adult with complex needs in Birmingham (B43). Roles include 10:00am–8:00pm shifts with 2:1 support, offering competitive hourly rates (£12.71–£14.87) and flexible full-time/part-time options.

Training, NVQ progression, and a supportive clinical team are included. We are a nurse-led organisation focused on dignity, compassion, and high-quality care.

Qualifications

  • 6+ months care experience is essential.
  • Knowledge of epilepsy and challenging behaviour is preferred.
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one) is required.
  • Strong communication and team work abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Personal care with dignity and respect
  • Medication administration (including PEG/NG where trained)
  • Tracheostomy care and suctioning (where applicable)
  • Manual handling and safe transfers
  • Behaviour support and de-escalation
  • Monitoring and reporting health changes
  • Providing emotional support and companionship
  • Deliver compassionate, person-centred care per care plans

We are currently recruitingdedicated Care Assistants / Healthcare Assistantsto support bothchildren and adults with complex needs.

Available Role: Birmingham B43

Client:Supporting a female adult with quadriplegic cerebral palsy, learning disabilities and visual impairment.

Hours: 10:00am–8:00pm (2:1 support)Pay:£12.71 – £14.87 per hour | Days & Nights Available

About the role
Role-Specific Responsibilities
  • Personal care with dignity and respect

  • Deliver compassionate, person-centred care in line with care plans
  • Assist with personal care, mobility, nutrition, and daily activities
  • Promote independence, dignity, and emotional wellbeing
  • Maintain accurate care documentation
  • Build trusting relationships with clients and families
  • Follow all health & safety regulations and company policies
What We’re Looking For :
  • Caring nature and genuine desire to help others
  • 6+ months care experience (essential)
  • Knowledge of epilepsy & challenging behaviour (preferred)
  • A compassionate, patient, and dependable approach
  • Strong verbal and written English skills
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team
  • Basic IT skills for completing documentation
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (preferred)
