Job summary

Blackburn Road Medical Centre is seeking a Healthcare Assistant to join our busy practice in Birstall. You will be part of a dynamic nursing team and support Minor Surgery clinics at the practice and PriDerm Dermatology.

Main duties of the job

1. Conducting new patient health checks
2. ECG recording
3. Phlebotomy
4. Chaperoning duties
5. Processing and managing laboratory samples requested by GPs/Nurses
6. Monitoring and recording vaccine/cold chain storage
7. Restocking surgical equipment and vaccines, stock rotation
8. Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms
9. Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment for patient care, including assisting GPs during minor operations
10. Assisting in patient health assessment and surveillance
11. Performing delegated clinical activities for specific patients
12. Raising awareness about health and well-being
13. Collecting and collating data related to health needs
