Job summary

MedGen Healthcare is seeking compassionate Mental Health Healthcare Assistants to support children and young people with complex mental health needs in Bath. You will provide emotional support and assist with daily living activities in a safe, nurturing environment.

The role requires UK experience, enhanced DBS, PMVA training, strong communication, safeguarding knowledge, and the ability to work flexibly across shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide consistent emotional support to children experiencing anxiety, distress or behavioural challenges.
  • Support children with autism and ADHD to manage routines, transitions, and sensory sensitivities.
  • Assist with daily living activities including personal care, mealtimes, hygiene, and routines.
  • Implement behaviour support plans and positive behaviour strategies per care plans.
  • Safely manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours using PMVA techniques where necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided and incidents.
  • Promote a safe, nurturing, structured environment tailored to individual needs.

MedGen Healthcare is seeking compassionate, resilient, and dedicated Mental Health Healthcare Assistants to provide high-quality care and support to children and young people with complex mental health needs.

This role involves supporting children and adolescents with conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, emotional and behavioural difficulties, and other additional needs. You will play a vital role in helping young people feel safe, understood, and supported in their daily lives.

The Role
  • Provide consistent emotional support and reassurance to children experiencing anxiety, distress, or behavioural challenges.
  • Support children with autism and ADHD to manage routines, transitions, and sensory sensitivities.
  • Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, mealtimes, hygiene, and maintaining a structured routine.
  • Implement behaviour support plans and positive behaviour strategies in line with care plans.
  • Safely manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours using PMVA techniques where necessary.
  • Maintain accurate, clear, and timely records of care provided and incidents.
  • Promote a safe, nurturing, structured, and stimulating environment tailored to individual needs.
Requirements
  • Minimum 6 months UK experience working as a Healthcare Assistant
  • Experience supporting individuals with Autism, ADHD, and challenging behaviour.
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
  • In date PMVA training (or willingness to do).
