Job summary

North Somerset Council is seeking a Health and Wellbeing Officer to join the Mental Wellbeing and Community Development Team within the Health Improvement Service. The role coordinates the Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2025–2028 and supports the Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2024–2029 to improve outcomes and reduce inequalities.

Qualifications

• We are looking for a candidate passionate about health improvement and reducing health inequalities.
• Ability to work collaboratively across complex systems to improve outcomes for local communities.
• Experience in partnership working across multi-agency environments is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, monitor and support delivery of the Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy and Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy.
• Lead monitoring, reporting and governance processes, including six-monthly and annual reporting.
• Develop and manage grant programmes, including initiatives to increase lived experience involvement.
• Lead key programmes including a multi-agency network to improve men's mental health and wellbeing.
• Analyse and interpret data, health intelligence and insight to inform decision-making and service improvement.
• Build and maintain strong partnerships across the council, health and care system, and VCFSE sector.
• Support programme delivery, communications and stakeholder engagement activity.
• Lead or support meetings, forums and multi-agency groups to strengthen collaboration and reduce inequality.
