NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is inviting Health Visitors to join one of the UK's largest NHS organisations, delivering care across Glasgow with flexible working options. You will promote child health and development, work with families and collaborate with diverse teams to ensure high-quality, family-centred care.

These roles require NMC registration, a post-registration Health Visiting qualification, and a master’s level credential or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse or Midwife with NMC registration.
• Post-registration qualification in Health Visiting/Public Health Nursing.
• Master's degree in a relevant nursing discipline or equivalent experience.
• Strong safeguarding and child protection knowledge.
• Experience managing a caseload and meeting deadlines.
• Ability to assess risk and make sound decisions in complex situations.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with families and partner agencies.

Responsibilities

• Act as the named Health Visitor for children within your caseload, supporting wellbeing from birth to school entry age.
• Deliver the Universal Health Visiting Pathway and conduct developmental assessments and referrals.
• Work with families using a strengths-based approach to improve outcomes for children.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and partner agencies on child-focused plans.
• Provide expert advice on safeguarding, child protection and vulnerable families.
• Maintain high standards of clinical practice, governance, and record keeping.
• Contribute to service improvement, supervision, and staff development for safe family-centred care.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern

• Glasgow City HSCP
• Monday to Friday
• There are various full-time and part-time posts available in the North East, North West and South

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the named Health Visitor for children within your caseload, supporting their wellbeing from birth to school entry age
• Deliver the Universal Health Visiting Pathway, carrying out developmental and wellbeing assessments and making timely referrals where appropriate
• Work in partnership with families, empowering them through a strengths-based approach to improve outcomes for children
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and partner agencies to develop, implement and monitor child-focused plans
• Provide expert advice and support in relation to safeguarding, child protection and vulnerable families
• Maintain high standards of clinical practice, governance, record keeping and information sharing in line with professional and legal requirements
• Contribute to service improvement, clinical supervision, staff development and the delivery of safe, effective family-centred care

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job

• Registered Nurse or Midwife educated to degree level or equivalent and registered with the NMC
• Post-registration qualification in Health Visiting/Public Health Nursing and registration on Part 3 of the NMC Register
• Educated to Master's level in a relevant nursing discipline or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and experience
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding, early intervention, child protection and health and social care pathways
• Experience of managing a caseload, prioritising workload and meeting deadlines effectively
• Ability to assess risk, apply critical thinking and make sound professional decisions in complex situations
• Excellent communication skills with experience of working collaboratively with families and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes for children
