Job summary

Dovetail and Slate is seeking a Lecturer in Health and Science to deliver biology, chemistry, and physics content up to Level 2 in a modern FE campus. You will plan schemes of work, run practical experiments, and support learners to progress into higher education or employment.

The role welcomes industry experts transitioning into teaching, with on-the-job training and DBS safeguarding supported as part of the appointment.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification or higher in Health or Science subject.
• Experience delivering biology, chemistry, and physics up to Level 2.
• Ability to plan and deliver learning programmes in a safe, inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare innovative schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessment schedules that engage students.
• Carry out practical experiments linked to the specification to support learners' qualifications.
• Plan and deliver effective learning programmes for diverse groups of learners in a safe, supportive environment.
• Support students' academic, personal, and professional development, helping overcome barriers to learning.
• Bring relevant vocational or industry knowledge to enhance teaching and learning.
• Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback and interventions to support achievement and progression.
• Contribute to curriculum development and uphold high teaching, learning, and assessment standards.
