Job summary

Leeds City Council is seeking a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Adviser – Behaviour Intervention Support to provide expert health, safety and behavioural guidance to directors, school staff and service areas. The role emphasises practical, evidence-based approaches to reduce violence and aggression risks and to deliver targeted training.

Based in Belle Isle Centre with hybrid working, the post supports 24,000 staff across directorates and schools, delivering high quality health, safety and

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge and experience with SEND and SEMH settings.
• Ability to communicate with a wide range of people and influence others on health and safety issues.
• Experience delivering behaviour intervention and violence/aggression training.
• Ability to formulate practical guidance to implement safe working practices.
• Experience delivering training to diverse stakeholders.
• Able to build relationships and challenge where needed while maintaining good working relationships.

Responsibilities

• Support service managers and school leaders to identify issues and provide health and safety solutions.
• Deliver BIST/Violence and Aggression training, including Team Teach components.
• Coordinate and evaluate learning and training programmes for services and schools.
• Contribute to violence and aggression strategies across Leeds City Council.
• Audit settings for compliance with health and safety legislation.
