Job summary

South Staffs Water is seeking a Health & Safety Business Partner to support operational teams and embed a strong safety culture. You will report to the Health & Safety Manager and work with managers, supervisors and SMEs to translate standards into practical, compliant ways of working.

The role focuses on risk assessments, incident learning, and supporting safety objectives across multiple sites. Hybrid working and site travel are required.

Qualifications

• Essential NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent health and safety qualification.
• Experience as health and safety advisory, coordinator or business partner.
• Strong understanding of risk assessment, accident investigation and safety management systems.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to influence, coach and support managers at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Partner operational teams to translate standards into practical procedures and safe systems of work.
• Support managers to embed critical risks and controls in risk assessments and operations.
• Develop and review risk assessments reflecting work as performed with clear guidance for safe practices.
• Promote incident and near-miss reporting to drive learning and improvement.
• Identify workplace health risks and support health surveillance programmes.
