Job summary

RG Setsquare’s client seeks a Health & Safety Officer in Woking for a permanent, fast-paced role supporting the Estates & Facilities team with safety documentation, contractor management and compliance.

You will assist with Permit-to-Work, Legionella, chemical inventories, COSHH, and KPI reporting, and may deputise for the Safety Manager during meetings and audits. Attractive benefits included.

Responsibilities

• Support the Estates & Facilities Team in maintaining databases and company systems including training records, facilities maintenance and contractor information, and quality/compliance/risk documentation.
• Provide central support for contractor activities on site under Permit-to-Work system.
• Support the site Legionella management programme, ensuring monitoring tasks are completed and databases updated.
• Assist with management of chemical inventories, safety data sheets and COSHH assessments.
• Support Maintenance Supervisors in plant room/engineering area management, including purchasing safety equipment and signage.
• Assist managers in collating Safety Performance Indicators and KPIs.
• Organise and take minutes in team meetings; participate in inspections and audits.
• Share suggestions with Health & Safety / Risk Manager to standardise safety practices across EMS.
• Deputise for Health & Safety / Risk Manager at facility Process Safety Meetings and Health & Safety Committee meetings.

Job description

Our longstanding client now has an excellent opportunity for a H&S Officer to join their team on a permanent basis. The company are fast growing and this position will be a fast paced role to meet their business needs.

Day to Day Role

• Support the Estates & Facilities Team in maintaining databases and company systems including those used for management of; training records; facilities maintenance and contractor information; and quality and compliance/risk documentation.
• Provide central support for contractor activities on site for Estates and other departments by ensuring all works are tracked and recorded under Permit-to-Work system.
• Support the site Legionella management programme, ensuring monitoring tasks are completed and associated databases are updated.
• Support management of chemical inventories, safety data sheets and COSHH assessments for chemicals used by the team.
• Support the Maintenance Supervisors in management of plant room and engineering areas, including purchasing and placing of safety equipment, signage, and materials required.
• Provide support for managers in collation and recording of Safety Performance Indicators and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) metrics.
• Organise and take minutes in team meetings where required.
• Participate in and support internal and external inspection and audit programmes coordinated by the department.
• Collate and share suggestions and observations with Health & Safety / Risk Manager to create consistency in safety standards throughout the EMS department and the company.
• Deputise for the Health & Safety / Risk Manager at facility Process Safety Meetings and/or Health & Safety Committee meetings where required.

Package

• Monday to Friday (37 hours per week)
