Job summary

Miller Homes Limited in the South West region is seeking a Health & Safety Manager to lead regional SHE activities and support the Divisional SHE Director in policy implementation. You will help ensure a healthy and safe workplace for employees and contractors across sites in the South West.

The role requires NEBOSH certification and construction or housebuilding experience, with strong leadership to drive audits, investigations and continuous safety improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role within housebuilding or Construction.
• NEBOSH certification (or equivalent).
• Experience conducting audits, accident investigations and liaising with statutory bodies.
• Strong leadership with integrity, presence, drive and enthusiasm.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, develop and implement SHE systems to maintain high standards of safety and compliance.
• Provide support and advice to the Region and represent management in safety discussions with employees and external bodies.
• Support development of Health & Safety capability within the Region by improving skills and knowledge.
• Report Area Performance and work with Area Management to develop solutions for compliance and improvement.

We are looking to recruit a Health & Safety Manager to join our fantastic team in our South West region. The role will see you provide regional support to the Divisional SHE Director in the implementation and supervision of the Company’s Safety, Health and Environmental policy so as to ensure a healthy and safe environment for all employees and workers engaged on Company business.

HEALTH & SAFETY MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitor, develop and implement SHE systems to ensure our standards, performance and compliance is of the highest order
• Provide support and advice to the Region and represent Regional Management in discussions with employees and external organisations on safety, health & environmental (SHE) matters
• Support the development of Health & Safety management capability within the Region by improving the skills and knowledge of Miller personnel
• Report on Area Performance and in conjunction with the Area Management, develop solutions for compliance and improvement.

HEALTH & SAFETY MANAGER REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience working in a similar role, ideally within the housebuilding or wider Construction sector
• NEBOSH certification (or equivalent)
• Experience in carrying out audits, accident investigation and liaison with relevant statutory bodies
• A natural leader possessing integrity, presence, drive, determination, natural enthusiasm
