Job summary

Miller Homes is seeking a Health & Safety Advisor to support the South West region, including Bristol. The role reports to the Divisional SHE Director and focuses on implementing and supervising the company’s Safety, Health and Environmental policy to maintain a safe workplace for employees and contractors.

You will monitor and develop SHE systems, perform site visits and audits, and represent Miller in discussions with staff and external bodies to continually improve safety performance.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role within housebuilding or broader construction.
• NEBOSH certification (or equivalent).
• Experience in audits, accident investigations and liaison with statutory bodies.
• A natural leader with integrity, presence and drive.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, develop and implement SHE systems to uphold high standards and compliance.
• Provide regional support to the Divisional SHE Director and liaise with employees and external organisations on SHE matters.
• Develop Health & Safety capability within the Region by upskilling Miller personnel.
• Carry out site visits and audits to ensure procedures and standards are followed.

We are looking to recruit a Health & Safety Advisor to join our fantastic team in our South West region. The role will see you provide regional support to the Divisional SHE Director in the implementation and supervision of the Company’s Safety, Health and Environmental policy so as to ensure a healthy and safe environment for all employees and workers engaged on Company business.

HEALTH & SAFETY ADVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitor, develop and implement SHE systems to ensure our standards, performance and compliance is of the highest order
• Provide support and advice to the Region and represent Regional Management in discussions with employees and external organisations on safety, health & environmental (SHE) matters
• Support the development of Health & Safety management capability within the Region by improving the skills and knowledge of Miller personnel
• Carry out site visits and audits to ensure compliance with specified procedures and standards

HEALTH & SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience working in a similar role, ideally within the housebuilding or wider Construction sector
• NEBOSH certification (or equivalent)
• Experience in carrying out audits, accident investigation and liaison with relevant statutory bodies
• A natural leader possessing integrity, presence, drive, determination, natural enthusiasm
