Health & Safety Manager

Your new company

We have an opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join a growing manufacturing business close to Thetford. You will be a key member of the Senior Management Team and will continually review, develop, and improve Health, Safety, and Environmental systems and operations throughout the business.

Your new role

You will lead and promote a positive Health & Safety culture across the business, supporting the board in all matters relating to EHS. You will provide information, guidance, and advice to all members of staff on environmental, health, and safety matters, develop and implement policies, procedures, systems, and training to ensure the business remains compliant with statutory and regulatory requirements.

You will ensure all risk assessments are in place and up to date, lead investigations of workplace incidents or accidents, and record, produce, and review statistics related to near misses and accidents to implement safety improvements. Additionally, you will monitor and maintain emission limits with local authorities, water, sewage, and environmental agencies as applicable.

You will approve, maintain, monitor, and audit off-site subcontractors, manage site first-aiders and fire marshalls, ensuring their training is current.

What you'll need to succeed

You should hold a Nebosh General Certificate and a Nebosh Diploma (or be working towards it). Experience in a manufacturing environment is essential. You must be a strong communicator capable of engaging with people at all levels and leading training and development sessions.
