Abatec is assisting a highly reputable Civil Engineering contractor with the recruitment of a Health & Safety Manager to be an integral part of their company and ensure that Health, Safety, and Environmental standards and legislation are upheld across the business.

My client, with a turnover of £30 million, delivers utility projects across Devon and Cornwall. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a company that works on behalf of South West Water and Grid.

As Health & Safety Manager, you will:

1. Be a driving force in developing innovative ways to promote Health & Safety awareness and culture.
2. Provide advice and expertise on project-based Health & Safety issues/occurrences.
3. Be proactive in offering improvements and development to incident plans.
4. Be an advocate of Health and Safety culture by providing training and consultation.
5. Work with subcontractors, vetting them before works are conducted, and monitor and report on conduct during delivery of multiple projects.

Our client is looking for a Health & Safety Manager with:

• Relevant H&S Qualifications (NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate – minimum)
• Sound knowledge of Civil Engineering / Construction methods
• Strong team management and time management skills
• Understanding of CDM 2015 regulations

Salary/Benefits:

• £45,000
• Company car or car allowance
