What Are We Looking For?

Our HSE department is looking to recruit a Health & Safety Manager to join our team on a permanent basis, working from either Cumbernauld, Edinburgh, or Dalgety Bay, servicing our Chemical & Biological team across Scotland. Your role will involve ensuring that all RSE companies’ activities comply with relevant Health and Safety legislation and that all persons affected are not subjected to avoidable risks.

Please note, owing to the nature of this role and location of works, travel across Scotland will be required.

Some of Your Key Duties Include
  • Ensure all activities comply with RSE’s Health and Safety, Quality, and Environmental management systems.
  • Assist project teams in satisfying requirements under current CDM regulations, including compiling Construction Phase Plans where appropriate.
  • Provide support on QHSE issues to departments and individuals within the Ross-shire engineering group as required, under the direction of the Health & Safety Manager.
  • Carry out QHSE inspections and audits at company premises and construction sites to ensure safety and hazard mitigation.
  • Complete inspection and audit reports, highlighting issues/nonconformance, and communicate findings to relevant personnel.
  • Assist engineers and site managers with health & safety risk assessments and safe working practices.
  • Produce COSHH assessments as needed.
  • Maintain communication and coordination with all departments within the business.
What Do You Need?
  • NEBOSH General (Level 3) certification, or working towards it.
  • Practical understanding of managing QHSE, with ability to build relationships with delivery teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation.
  • Experience applying safety practices in manufacturing and construction sites; utilities experience is advantageous.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
