Zusammenfassung

The National Service’s Estates, Health, Safety, Litigation and Safety Group is hiring a permanent Health, Safety and Fire Practitioner to provide first-line health, safety and fire advice to managers, staff, prisoners and contractors in a prison establishment. Hybrid working is available within the UK, with some travel to other establishments as needed.

Responsibilities include investigating incidents, delivering training, conducting risk assessments, and supporting contingency plans.

Qualifikationen

• NEBOSH General Certificate required within 2 years of appointment.
• HMPPS Fire Risk Assessment qualification within 2 years of appointment.
• RPE Training Qualification upon appointment.

Aufgaben

• Investigate and administer accident, assault, near miss and fire incidents, recording in the Sphera system.
• Produce and monitor fire risk assessments and manage actions to mitigate risks.
• Coordinate fire safety arrangements, drills and liaison with Fire & Rescue Service.
• Deliver health, safety and fire training and assessments; support RIDDOR referrals and first aid.
• Conduct health, safety and fire tours to verify compliance and report concerns.
• Administer DSE system and advise on ergonomic assessments when needed.
• Monitor contingency planning and assist in testing health, safety and fire contingency plans.
• Collaborate with MoJ Estates on high-risk audits and reporting of unsafe conditions.
• Ensure inductions for staff and stakeholders and provide emergency actions guidance.
• Advise senior managers on dangerous conditions and provide technical advice on site projects.
• Assist regional litigation teams by collating information for complex cases.
• Support the health, safety and fire risk register and incident data for establishment committee.
