Job summary

Portsmouth Water is seeking a proactive Health & Safety Coordinator to support day-to-day delivery of the health and safety programme. You will work with the Health & Safety Advisor to maintain records, coordinate training and ensure a safe working environment across the business.

The role offers development opportunities and guidance into a Health & Safety career, with involvement in incident recording, reporting and policy updates. A full UK driving licence is desirable.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates high standards and promotes a positive safety culture.
• Excellent communication and the ability to influence across teams.
• Experience using safety/compliance databases and Microsoft Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Log accidents, near misses and incidents; generate management reports.
• Track compliance metrics (fire warden certs, risk assessments, health surveillance).
• Maintain digital and hard-copy filing for audits, policies and equipment logs.
• Serve as first point of contact for safety inquiries and admin support.
• Prepare safety data, dashboards and meeting packs using templates.
