Job summary

Irwin and Colton are recruiting a Health and Safety Advisor to support major projects in the Midlands. Based in Birmingham, you will drive a positive safety culture and lead on health and safety across sites with a focus on compliance and continuous improvement.

The role requires NEBOSH Construction (or equivalent) and excellent communication skills to engage with a wide range of stakeholders. A proactive approach and drive to grow within the construction industry are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in health and safety roles, preferably in construction or related sectors.
• Strong ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Proactive in driving safety culture and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Developing and implementing ideas to improve health and safety performance.
• Leading on health and safety across the site and ensuring compliance with legislation.
• Conducting training, toolbox talks, inductions and investigating incidents as required.
• Carrying out audits and inspections and reporting findings.

Health and Safety Advisor | Birmingham £50,000 + Car Allowance and Benefits

Irwin and Colton are working with a leading Principal Contractor to recruit a Health and Safety Advisor. This role will be responsible for driving a positive safety culture on various major projects in the Midlands. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and motivated health and safety professional looking to further develop and grow their career with a leader in the construction industry.

Responsibilities

• Developing and implementing innovative ideas to improve health and safety performance
• Leading on health and safety and engaging across the site, implementing health and safety policies and procedures and ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation
• Conducting training, toolbox talks, inductions and investigating incidents where required
• Undertaking audits and inspections of the site, identifying areas for improvement and reporting on the findings

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a similar role ideally from within construction or a related industry
• Minimum of NEBOSH Construction (or equivalent)
• Excellent communications skills with the ability to tailor a message and communicate succinctly to a range of stakeholders
• Drive and enthusiasm with the willingness to learn, develop and grow in the role
