Job summary

Dowds is seeking a Health & Safety Advisor to join our SHEQ Team. The role focuses on regular site presence, monitoring compliance with company standards, supporting safe systems of work, engaging directly with the workforce, and identifying issues early to prevent incidents.

The Advisor plays a key role in day-to-day H&S delivery, supporting project teams to meet legal, company and Client requirements while reinforcing a positive and proactive safety culture.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) required.
• Experience in construction & MEP environment.
• Valid CSCS card is essential.
• Driving licence is required.
• Strong communication and organisation skills.

Responsibilities

• Conducting site health and safety inspections and audits.
• Attending internal and client meetings as Dowds H&S representative.
• Support in rolling out Dowds Health and Safety campaigns and initiatives.
• Be a key support in ISO 45001 compliance for the business.
• Carry out incident investigations as needed.
• Monitor health and safety trends and identify training needs.
• Support the H&S Manager with KPIs and department objectives.
• Drive a positive safety culture across the business, supply chain and clients.
