The Role Working alongside Senior Health & Safety Advisors, operational management and the wider Health & Safety team, you'll provide advice, guidance and practical support to ensure highways maintenance activities are undertaken safely and in accordance with relevant legislation and company procedures.

Previous experience in a Health & Safety Advisor or SHE advisory role, ideally within highways maintenance, civil engineering, construction or infrastructure
NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate, or an equivalent qualification
Good working knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation, risk management and safe systems of work
Understanding of the CDM Regulations and their application to construction or infrastructure activities
Experience conducting site inspections, audits and supporting incident investigations
Confident communicator, comfortable engaging with operational teams, contractors and senior management
Practical, proactive approach to identifying risks and developing workable solutions
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload across multiple locations
Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office
Full UK driving licence
This position offers an attractive combination of flexibility, autonomy and professional development within a major UK infrastructure business.
With a choice of five maintenance depots across Cambridgeshire, flexible working arrangements and regular opportunities to visit operational sites, you'll have the freedom to organise your working week around the needs of the role rather than being permanently based in one location.
You'll also have opportunities to collaborate with Health & Safety colleagues working on other infrastructure contracts across East Anglia, broadening your exposure to different projects and operational environments.
The company is committed to supporting professional development, including further training and progression towards professional membership of IOSH.
For an experienced Health & Safety Advisor looking for a varied, operationally focused role with greater flexibility and the opportunity to develop professionally, this represents an excellent opportunity within an established UK infrastructure contractor
