Job summary

VIQU Energy is recruiting a Health & Safety Advisor to support infrastructure service operations across Cambridgeshire. The role is hands-on, across multiple sites, with travel to different contracts in East Anglia.

You will promote a positive safety culture, ensure compliance with UK legislation and assist with risk assessments, audits and investigations. A driving licence and willingness to travel between sites are required.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH General Certificate required or equivalent.
• NEBOSH Construction Certificate preferred.
• Strong communication and analytical skills essential.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide Health & Safety advice to operations teams and contractors, ensuring compliance with legislation and policies.
• Carry out site inspections, audits and monitoring to identify risks and improve safety standards.
• Support risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Assist with incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Promote safe working practices through coaching, training and engagement.
• Maintain accurate records, analyse performance and contribute to reporting.
• Collaborate with managers to reduce incidents and improve safety across sites.

Location: Cambridgeshire - at least 4 days per week on site

The Opportunity

We are recruiting a Health & Safety Advisor to support infrastructure service operations across Cambridgeshire.

Working closely with operational teams, contractors and senior Health & Safety colleagues, you will promote a positive safety culture, ensure compliance with legislation and help manage operational risks. This is a hands‑on role involving multiple sites, with opportunities to support other contracts across East Anglia.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Health & Safety advice to operational teams and contractors, ensuring compliance with legislation and company policies.
• Carry out site inspections, audits and monitoring to identify risks and improve safety standards.
• Support risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Assist with incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Promote safe working practices through coaching, training and engagement.
• Maintain accurate records, analyse performance and contribute to reporting.
• Collaborate with operational managers and colleagues to reduce incidents and improve safety.

About You

You will have:

• NEBOSH General Certificate and ideally NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
• Experience in a Health & Safety advisory or SHE role, within construction, energy or infrastructure.
• Good knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation, risk management and safe systems of work.
• An understanding of CDM Regulations and site-based operations.
• Strong communication, analytical and stakeholder management skills.
• A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites.
