Job description

Description

Great opportunity to join our team as a Health & Benefits Risk Consultant working hybrid within the risk and healthcare consulting team. In this role, you will be responsible for advising our clients on all aspects of managing the health of their workforce, as well as advising on and implementing risk and other health-related insurances, which are key aspects of this service.

The team handles all aspects of group insurance, from market broking exercises to ongoing day-to-day administration and consulting of client arrangements, including inquiries regarding renewals, funding, underwriting, and benefits. The team covers private medical insurance and healthcare policies (dental, cash plan, optical, health screens, travel, PA, and perks), as well as registered and excepted group life assurance, death-in-service pensions, group income protection, critical illness, spouse/partner life assurance coverages, and policies placed via the Lloyd's market.

The Role

To work with WTW Consultants and its clients on the provision and selection of risk and other health-related insurances.

  1. Provide strategic consultative advice to clients on the design, delivery, and ongoing management of their benefit programs, collaborating with other team members.
  2. Proactively stay updated on legislative changes by engaging with colleagues and reading relevant news briefs/publications, and apply this knowledge to your work.
  3. Manage provider relationships for your client base using negotiation and influencing skills as appropriate.
  4. Service, consult with, and retain existing clients with high-quality service and credibility.
  5. Plan and organize renewals effectively.
  6. Design and redesign benefit programs as needed.
  7. Liaise with providers and insurers for information exchange.
  8. Assist with re-broking exercises, analysis, and verification of provider contract terms.
  9. Address client queries promptly and professionally.
  10. Maintain quality control procedures to ensure high standards.
Qualifications

The Requirements:

  • Risk benefits experience is essential; healthcare benefits experience is advantageous, especially from an advisory background.
  • Comprehensive and current technical knowledge and practical experience in Employee Benefits.
  • Strong understanding of group risk and healthcare policies and providers, ideally supported by GR1 and/or IF7 qualifications.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within cross-disciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Quick learner, self-motivated, and able to organize workload effectively.
  • Capable of working efficiently and accurately in a professional setting.
  • An understanding of broader employee health issues, with experience in international coverage, wellbeing, and technology platforms, would be beneficial for future progression.
