Job summary

LivingCare Group is seeking a bank Health Care Assistant to join the Endoscopy team at Thorpe Park Clinic in Leeds. You will support the clinical team in delivering outstanding patient care and help prepare the room and equipment.

You will work with registered nurses, assist with decontamination of scopes, stock checks and administrative tasks, and contribute to a patient-centered environment across cross-site requirements.

Qualifications

  • Promote a patient-friendly environment for patients, relatives and carers.
  • Assist endoscopy team with decontamination of scopes.
  • Assist with auditing, stock checks and management.
  • Set up the room and prepare clinical areas.
  • Contribute to a team approach to patient care.
  • Contribute to the accuracy of care plans and reports.
  • Attend meetings as requested.
  • Undertake tasks within competency.

Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated bank Health Care Assistant to join our Endoscopy team at Thorpe Park Clinic. The role will consist of supporting the clinical team in delivering outstanding patient care.

Responsibility
  • Support registered staff in the implementation of an agreed plan of care with the patient and in accordance with instructions and training received per local and national policies and guidelines including JAG.
  • Help promote and maintain an environment conducive to meeting the needs of the patient/relatives and carers.
  • Support the endoscopy team with decontamination of scopes
  • Support with auditing and stock checks and management as required.
  • Set up of the room and preparation of all clinical areas in line with service requirements.
  • Contribute to a team approach to patient care in conjunction with all members of the team.
  • Contribute to the legality and accuracy of the patients care plan/ and or other reports and the effectiveness of the established communication /reporting system.
  • Participate in regular meetings and attend other meetings as requested.
  • Undertake tasks and procedures, in which competency has been assessed and recorded specific to the care environment.
  • To assist in the maintenance of stock levels,
  • To assist in the maintenance of the clinic cleanliness and tidiness and always adhere to infection control policy and procedures.
  • To receive and convey information from telephone or personal enquiries in a courteous manner and ensure all persons visiting the clinic are greeted and assisted in a welcoming and supportive manner.
  • To assist and support registered nurses and clerical staff in administrative duties as required.
  • Support each unit by cross site working where there is a service requirement.
