Job summary

Vita Health Group is seeking a Health and Wellbeing Coach to support the Nottinghamshire community. The role focuses on health coaching and care co-ordination across Nottingham and surrounding areas.

You will run workshops, deliver 1-1 coaching by phone or video, and contribute to programme development. Training for Level 3 GP Referral is provided within six months, with travel as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 3 accredited qualification in personal training or exercise instruction (REPs or CIMSPA).
• Experience delivering face-to-face or virtual exercise classes.
• Experience working individually and within a team.
• Willingness to work Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday evenings.
• Level 3 GP Referral (Also known as Level 3 Exercise Referral) training provided within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Independently running health & wellbeing workshops/exercise classes (group, virtual or face-to-face) for NHS service users with mental wellbeing needs and long-term conditions.
• Conduct initial health & lifestyle appointments and 1-1 sessions via telephone or video.
• Contribute to Healthy Living Healthy Minds programme development and resources.
• Complete Level 3 GP Referral training within six months of employment (funded by Vita Health Group).

The Role: What you will do?

The Health and Wellbeing Coach will work in the Nottingham & Nottinghamshirecommunity providing health and lifestyle coaching and care co-ordination within their areas.

This will include:

• Independently running health & wellbeing workshops/exercise classes in a group, in a virtual setting or face to face to NHS service users experiencing mental wellbeing difficulties, who may also experience long term health conditions.
• Independently conducting health & lifestyle initial appointments and 1-1 sessions via telephone or video call. The Healthy Living Healthy Minds programme aims to help improve service user’s wellbeing by focusing on improving lifestyle factors, such as physical activity levels and healthier eating. Thus, in-depth coaching sessions are important to address the causes and barriers to improving lifestyle.
• Contributing to the Healthy Living Healthy Minds programme development and assisting in producing resources.
• For candidates who do not hold the training for Level 3 GP Referral (also known as Level 3 Exercise Referral), this will be provided and will be expected to be completed within the first 6 months of employment (funded by Vita Health Group).

This is a full time contract.

Skills and Experience:

• Minimum level 3 accredited qualification in personal training or exercise instruction (such as REPs or CIMSPA)
• Experience of delivering face-to-face or virtual exercise classes
• Experience of working individually and within a team
• Ability to encourage behavioural changes, and design individualised health & wellbeing plans
• Sound health and wellbeing knowledge including exercise and nutrition
• Experience of working with people experiencing mental wellbeing difficulties
• Willingness to work a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday evening.
• Basic knowledge of the Talking Therapiesmental health service
• Adept in time management and prioritisation
• Friendly and approachable with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• An awareness of and commitment to supporting and facilitating diversity and inclusion
• Willingness to travel, which may include overnight stays on occasion, as and when required
• Level 3 GP Referral (Also known as Level 3 Exercise Referral)
• Certificate / diploma in behavioural change, personal coaching, or motivational interviewing
• Recognised qualifications in exercise class instruction
