Job Description:

Scholars School System, a project of UK CURRICULUM & ACCREDITATION BODY (UKCAB), is seeking a Health and Social Care Lecturer with Higher Education experience based at the Leicester campus.

UKCAB, a registered charity founded in 2006, operates campuses across the UK including Birmingham, Manchester, London, Bradford, and Leicester. We are a national independent higher education provider offering programs from Foundation Year to Level 7, in partnership with institutions like Leeds Trinity University. Over the past five years, more than 5,000 UK and EU learners have completed their studies, with a current student body of over 3,000.

Reporting to: Associate Dean/Head of Department

Purpose:

Due to recent growth, we are hiring lecturers in the health and social care faculty at Leicester. Successful candidates will collaborate with staff to deliver an excellent student experience through engaging learning, teaching, and assessment methods.

Ideal candidates will have industry and teaching experience at undergraduate, postgraduate, or professional levels.

Responsibilities include:

  • Planning, delivering, and assessing student work to meet learning outcomes.
  • Developing and updating course materials.
  • Teaching, marking, assessment, and providing feedback.
  • Supporting colleagues to meet organizational and statutory requirements.
  • Collaborating with external partners and supporting related activities.
  • Leading modules and associated tasks.

The role involves working across different levels as needed.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Health & Social Care or related field.
  • Minimum one year of UK teaching experience.
  • PGCert / Fellowship in FHCA (highly desirable).
  • Enthusiasm for delivering high-quality education.
  • Proven leadership in program development and educational pedagogy.
  • Experience supervising student work, marking, assessment, and feedback.
  • Experience collaborating with professional services to enhance student learning.
  • Previous course or module leadership is desirable.
  • Proficiency in using technology for teaching and learning.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Competitive annual salary based on qualifications and experience.
  • Basic hours: 9am to 6pm on-site.
  • Travel may be required.
  • 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Up to £5,000 annual incentives, paid quarterly upon KPI achievement post-probation.
  • 3% annual salary increase upon meeting KPIs and after one year of service.
