Health and Social Care Lecturer Job Description

Scholars School System, a project of UK CURRICULUM & ACCREDITATION BODY (UKCAB), a registered charity founded in 2006 with campuses across the UK including Birmingham, Manchester, London, Bradford, and Leicester, is seeking a Health and Social Care Lecturer with HE experience based at the Leicester campus.

We are a national independent higher education provider offering world-class education, with programmes ranging from Foundation Year to Level 7, in partnership with institutions such as Leeds Trinity University. Over 5,000 UK and EU learners have successfully completed their courses in the last five years, with a current student population of over 3,000.

Reporting Line

Reports to: Associate Dean/Head of Department

Purpose

Due to recent growth, we are looking to appoint lecturers in the health and social care faculty at Leicester. Successful candidates will collaborate with staff to ensure an excellent student experience through engaging teaching, learning, and assessment methods.

Ideally, candidates will combine industry and teaching experience at undergraduate, postgraduate, and/or professional levels.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, deliver, and assess student work to meet learning outcomes.
  • Develop, update, and improve course materials.
  • Conduct teaching, marking, assessment, and provide feedback.
  • Support colleagues in delivering organizational and statutory requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners.
  • Lead modules and related activities.
  • Adapt to organizational needs across different levels.
Requirements
Essential
  • Masters' degree in Health & Social Care or a related field.
  • Minimum one year of UK teaching experience.
  • PGCert / Fellowship in FHCA (highly desirable).
  • Enthusiasm for delivering high-quality education.
  • Proven leadership in programme development and educational pedagogy.
  • Experience supervising student work with supportive feedback.
  • Experience in marking, assessment, and feedback.
  • Experience collaborating with professional services to enhance learning.
  • Experience in course and module leadership (desirable).
  • Proficiency in using technology for teaching and learning.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
Salary and Benefits
