Job Overview

As part of the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), we are committed to the success of Sizewell C, a transformative project that aims to provide low-carbon electricity to 6 million homes in the UK. We are seeking an experienced HSW Fire & Emergency Preparedness Specialist to join our team on-site at Sizewell C in Suffolk.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive Integrated Emergency Management (IEM) systems.
2. Assess, prevent, and prepare for potential risks, ensuring swift response and recovery.
3. Collaborate with HSW Managers and operational teams to align fire and emergency measures with legal standards and project requirements.
4. Develop and evaluate emergency exercises and facilitate coordination with emergency services.
5. Implement the five joint Emergency Services Interoperability Principles (JESIP).
6. Foster a culture of safety, proactive risk management, and clear communication across the site.

Candidate Requirements

1. Hands-on experience in operational response environments.
2. Strong understanding of UK health and safety legislation relevant to construction and nuclear sites.
3. Ability to provide emergency management advice and motivate teams.
4. Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) qualification.
5. Experience with proprietary rescue equipment.
6. NEBOSH certification is highly desirable.
