About the Role

Provide assistance, guidance, and advice on environment, health, and safety matters as required by the business.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage relationships with the Health and Safety Executive, lead HSE audits, and ensure timely closure of raised items while identifying improvements.
• Promote a safety culture across the HSW departments, build relationships on-site, drive initiatives, and communicate successes.
• Manage the COSHH manual in accordance with relevant legislation.
• Manage and submit data in compliance with Packaging Waste Regulations.
• Conduct EHS inspections and audits on and off-site, identifying opportunities for remedial action and continuous improvement, ensuring legal and other requirements are met.
• Assist in accident investigations to identify root causes and recommend preventive measures.
• Review policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure alignment with the management system and verify data compliance.
• Maintain records related to EHS, including ISO 14001 standards, waste, water, energy, and carbon footprinting.
• Collaborate with the Health & Safety Network to ensure compliance with company policies and best practices.
• Develop and maintain relationships with outsourced HS&E providers and streamline standards where necessary.
• Maintain and improve EHS systems continuously.
• Identify new technologies and best practices to enhance safety culture and environmental impact, leading initiatives to completion.
• Develop and deliver EHS training programs.
• Participate actively as a member of the HSW’s Plant Leadership Team (PLT).
• Handle departmental administration as needed.
