Job summary

Venn Group is recruiting an experienced Health and Safety Manager for a Social Housing organisation in Manchester. The role is permanent with a salary of £52,000 per annum.

You will oversee safety standards, policies and compliance across housing operations and provide expert health and safety advice to support repairs, maintenance and broader housing services. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of five years’ Social Housing experience, NEBOSH or equivalent qualification is desirable, and

Health and Safety Manager – Social Housing – Manchester – £52,000 – Permanent

Venn Group are recruiting for an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join a Social Housing organisation in Manchester on a permanent basis. This Health and Safety Manager position offers a salary of £52,000 per annum.

We are looking for a Health and Safety Manager, H&S Manager, Health and Safety Advisor or Health and Safety Lead with extensive experience working within Social Housing, Housing Associations or residential property services.

A minimum of 5 years' Social Housing experience is essential for this position.

The role

As Health and Safety Manager, you will oversee health and safety standards, policies, procedures and compliance across a Social Housing organisation.

The Health and Safety Manager will provide professional health and safety advice, support risk management, undertake audits and inspections, and ensure health and safety requirements are effectively implemented across housing operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage health and safety policies, procedures and compliance

• Carry out health and safety inspections, audits and risk assessments

• Provide health and safety advice across housing, repairs and maintenance services

• Monitor contractor health and safety performance

• Review RAMS, safe systems of work and working practices

• Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses

• Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation

• Support CDM Regulations and construction-related health and safety requirements

• Identify risks and implement corrective actions

• Deliver health and safety training, guidance and awareness

• Produce health and safety reports and performance information

• Work with managers, contractors and operational teams to improve safety standards

About you

• Experience as a Health and Safety Manager, H&S Manager, Health and Safety Advisor or Health and Safety Lead

• Minimum 5 years' experience working within Social Housing essential

• Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and compliance

• Experience supporting Housing Associations, property services or repairs and maintenance teams

• Knowledge of contractor management, risk assessments and health and safety audits

• Experience investigating incidents and implementing corrective actions

• Understanding of CDM Regulations and construction health and safety desirable

• NEBOSH or equivalent Health and Safety qualification desirable

• Strong communication, reporting and stakeholder management skills

• Able to provide practical health and safety guidance across operational teams

Candidates must have at least five years' experience working within the Social Housing sector. Applications without this experience will not be considered.
