Principal People Recruitment is seeking a Construction Health & Safety consultant for a home-based role covering the East Midlands and surrounding areas. You will conduct inspections, advise clients and site teams, and review safety documentation while visiting client sites regularly.

You'll have a NEBOSH Construction or equivalent qualification, and experience across building, housebuilding or civil engineering projects. Consultancy/CDM exposure is advantageous but not essential.

Are you looking for a Construction Health & Safety position offering greater variety, independence and the opportunity to work across a diverse range of projects and clients?

Principal People are recruiting for an established Health & Safety consultancy supporting a varied portfolio of construction, housebuilding and civil engineering projects across the Midlands.

This is a home-based position offering a combination of site visits, client engagement and independent working. The role provides exposure to a broad range of construction environments, with opportunities to become involved in CDM and Principal Designer responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct Health & Safety inspections and audits across a range of construction projects.
• Provide practical advice and guidance to clients, contractors and site management teams.
• Review Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Construction Phase Plans and other safety documentation.
• Build strong client relationships, providing ongoing support and recommendations for improvement.
• Support CDM and Principal Designer responsibilities where appropriate, depending on experience.
• Identify areas for improvement and help clients maintain compliance with relevant legislation.

The Successful Candidate

• Experience in construction Health & Safety, ideally across building, housebuilding or civil engineering projects.
• A recognised Health & Safety qualification, such as NEBOSH Construction or equivalent.
• Previous consultancy or CDM experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
