Job summary

Polaris Education - Middlesbrough School in Middlesbrough seeks a visionary Head Teacher to lead a small special school for pupils aged 5-18 with complex needs. You will shape a compassionate and inclusive learning journey, ensuring high standards and safeguarding across the school.

You will work with our Polaris Community to deliver holistic progress, professional development for staff and strong community involvement, with a focus on EHCP outcomes and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status with primary or secondary teaching experience.
• Experience working with pupils with SEN and a deep understanding of their needs.
• Proven leadership skills and ability to motivate others.

Responsibilities

• Educational Leadership: develop and implement a vision aligned with Polaris ethos and standards.
• Safeguarding: act as DSL and implement safeguarding policies and culture.
• Curriculum Enhancement: tailor curriculum to diverse learner needs.
• Pastoral Care and SEN Advocacy: promote wellbeing and EHCP-aligned support.
• Staff Development: mentor staff and foster collaborative growth.
• Community Engagement: build strong relationships with parents and external partners.
