Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker is seeking a motivated Heading Setter to join our manufacturing team in Warrington. You will set and operate heading machines, perform tool changes, and ensure products meet required specifications through in-process inspections.

You will read engineering drawings, adjust tooling and feeds, and maintain safe working practices while supporting timely production targets in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong fault-finding, problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
• Basic knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and quality control systems.
• Good understanding of tooling, alignment, feed settings, and machine adjustment.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate a range of heading machines and perform changeovers.
• Carry out machine set-ups across different product types and materials.
• Adjust tooling, alignment and feed settings to ensure dimensional accuracy.
• Monitor production runs and maintain output and quality.
• Identify tooling issues, faults, and process variation to minimize downtime.
• Read engineering drawings and inspection requirements to meet specifications.
• Conduct in-process inspection using measuring equipment.
