Job summary

CRP Subsea Ltd is seeking a proactive Tool Setter to join our manufacturing team in Skelmersdale. You will prepare, install and maintain production tooling across our cells, ensuring safe, efficient production and top quality standards.

Reporting to the Production Manager, you will coordinate tooling requirements, perform machine set-ups, manage tooling inventory and support continuous improvement with Engineering and Quality teams.

Qualifications

• Experience with tooling in a production or engineering environment.
• Strong organisational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Hands-on, practical approach with good manual dexterity.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to resolve issues.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, adjust and maintain precision tooling for production operations.
• Plan and coordinate tooling requirements with production schedules.
• Carry out tool changes and machine set-ups to ensure specifications.
• Mount, align and secure tooling into production machinery.
• Manage tooling inventory and maintain records of tool locations and part numbers.
• Arrange tooling ordering, shipping and movement in line with demand.
• Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, lubrication and replacement of worn tooling components.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams to troubleshoot manufacturing issues.
• Adhere to quality standards, risk assessments and SOPs.
• Support reduction of machine downtime through effective tooling preparation and changeover planning.
• Maintain housekeeping standards within the department.
• Follow Health & Safety requirements, including PPE usage.
