Job description

Beech House Veterinary Surgery is looking for a driven and enthusiastic Head RVN to lead and mentor a nursing team to clinical excellence.

You'll be joining our well-equipped practice based in Radcliffe, Manchester. We are offering an attractive salary along with an excellent benefits package.

This is a full-time role, working 5 days a week and 1:4 Saturdays.

The role…

You will be joining a practice with access to a large, varied, and very interesting caseload, along with a wide range of modern equipment including digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy suite, multiparameter monitors, and in-house lab facilities.

We are seeking an experienced HRVN who is confident and proactive, capable of leading and mentoring our nursing team to deliver the best possible care and high customer service standards. This role offers the opportunity to join a small but well-established practice with loyal clients, varied cases, and the chance to make a real difference to pets and their owners.

You will be a positive example to our recently qualified RVNs and work to build confidence in our new graduate vets. This position can be tailored to your aspirations, with endless possibilities for development within our team.

We value the strong bond between owners and their pets, and we strive to treat all animals with compassion, providing attentive care while involving clients in decision-making.

Why join us?

Established in 2009, we have grown steadily, supported by a friendly and experienced veterinary team committed to providing high-quality care.

Our team supports inpatient cases, surgery, hospital treatments, routine check-ups, and procedures. We also accept referrals in medicine, diagnostic imaging, soft tissue surgery, orthopaedics, and have regional support in ophthalmology.

Our location is easily accessible by car or public transport, with parking available nearby.

Salary and Hours:

This is a full-time position, approximately 38-40 hours per week, including 1 in 4 Saturdays (08:30-17:30). We are open to flexible working arrangements during the interview process.

Our hours are Monday to Friday, 07:45 to 19:00, and Saturdays, 08:30 to 17:30. Out-of-hours support is provided by MiNightVet Manchester.

Benefits include:
  • Dedicated CPD support and access to in-house courses
  • Knowledge Hub with over 260 courses and 235 webinars
  • Wellbeing initiatives with over 280 wellbeing champions
  • Buy and Sell Holiday scheme – buy up to 4 weeks additional leave
  • Health and wellbeing benefits: Employee Assistance Programme, Cycle to Work, discounted Gym Membership
