Job summary

Wellpets is seeking a seasoned Head Veterinary Nurse to lead the nursing team across Yeovil and Worle. The role focuses on delivering high-quality patient care, setting nursing standards and driving clinical governance within a supportive practice.

You will mentor staff, oversee day-to-day nursing operations, collaborate with leadership, and foster a culture of continuous development in a friendly, client-focused environment.

We are seeking a knowledgeable, confident Head Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Wellpets - Yeovil & Worle on a full-time basis.

How You'll Make a Difference

As a Head Veterinary Nurse, you will provide senior clinical and professional leadership for the nursing team, overseeing all nursing aspects of the practice and supporting the delivery of high-quality patient and client care.

You'll be responsible for setting and maintaining nursing standards, leading clinical governance and quality improvement activity, and developing a capable, confident nursing team. Working closely with the wider practice leadership team, you'll play a key role in shaping culture, performance and ways of working.

Working Pattern
  • 40 hours per week
  • 4 days per week in Yeovil and 1 day per week in Worle
  • 1 in 3 Saturday mornings at Yeovil (8:30am to 1pm)
  • No out-of-hours requirement
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, inspire and develop the nursing and animal care team
