About us
Our spacious surgery, based in the Pets at Home store, is purpose built and has excellent equipment including digital x-ray, dental x-ray, high spec ultrasound and in-house laboratory. We have 3 consultation rooms, dedicated operating theatre, lab area, prep room and separate dog, cat and isolation wards. We are proud to be a veterinary nursing training practice and we have our RCVS practice standards accreditation.
The current team consists of 6 Vets, 7 RVNs, 4 SVNs, 3 VCAs, 5 receptionists and a practice manager. We’re a supportive, fun and dedicated team and have a large and loyal client base. The nursing team are encouraged to work closely with the vets but also alongside each other and the rest of the team, to utilise their skills to the full potential within the RVN qualification to achieve maximum job satisfaction. Our practice owner is keen to offer support to all of the team and encourage any specific areas of interest.
About you
This role would suit an experienced registered nurse looking for the next step in their career or someone with current management experience. We are looking for someone who is happy to lead by example, has great communication and team-work skills and who will bring a positive and passionate approach to the role.
You’ll be confident with all general nursing duties and ideally have experience of, and enjoy, coaching and mentoring student nurses. Strong leadership skills and motivation to maximise efficiency while maintaining high standards of care for our patients are essential. This role would suit an ambitious nurse who thrives in a fast-paced practice. Some managerial administrative duties would be required as part of the role.
About the role
The full time rota consists of an average of 40 hours per week. Weekday shifts vary between 8.00am and 7.30pm and you will be required to work 1 full weekend every 8 weeks. Lieu days will be provided for each weekend worked and there are no out of hours duties or on call, allowing you to enjoy an excellent work/life balance.
