Job summary

Nuclear Restoration Services seeks a capable leader to head the Low Activity and Conventional Waste Team at Chapelcross, driving the decommissioning mission and ensuring waste operations align with safety standards.

The role requires a proven track record in leading teams, strong nuclear waste management knowledge, and the ability to influence delivery across programmes and asset care. This is a site-based role with a 4‑day week potential.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering/science or related discipline (NQF 6/SCQF 9/10).
• Proven experience leading teams in operational or programme environments.
• Strong nuclear sector experience, particularly waste management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate the Waste Team to deliver operations safely and compliantly.
• Set clear standards and expectations, driving high performance and discipline.
• Own waste targets and promote continuous improvement and proactive performance management.
• Build cross-site relationships to enable delivery of waste operations.
• Support Chapelcross’ decommissioning mission with authority.
