Job summary

Network Rail is seeking an exceptional engineering leader to join as Head of Vehicle Track Integration, reporting to the executive team. You will drive the future performance, safety, sustainability and resilience by leading the vehicle-track interface across the Southern region.

You will provide independent technical leadership and assurance, harmonising standards, asset strategies and system interfaces, while influencing investment decisions and partnerships across the rail industry.

Qualifications

• Registered Engineer at CEng level or equivalent.
• Proven leadership and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience in rolling stock, infrastructure or related engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic alignment of vehicle, track, signalling, power and operations for whole-system outcomes.
• Provide independent technical assurance for rolling stock and infrastructure requirements.
• Drive integration across fleet, maintenance, and operations to improve reliability and sustainability.
• Develop data governance and advanced decision-support across domains.
