Job summary

CEVA Logistics UK is seeking an experienced Driver Manager to oversee daily vehicle movements across the UK for vehicle manufacturers, retailers and online sales. Based at Chipping Warden, reporting to Head of Operations, the role combines people leadership with operational planning and customer service.

You will coordinate planning, driver allocation, and deliveries, manage performance, recruit and develop teams, and ensure safety, compliance and cost control.

Qualifications

• Experienced driver/transport/operations manager with logistics or distribution background.
• Strong planning and organisational skills; balance customer requirements, driver availability and costs.
• Clear communication and supportive leadership; build relationships with drivers, colleagues and customers.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and MS Office; good understanding of UK geography.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the full vehicle movement cycle from planning to delivery and collection.
• Monitor demand, ensure driver capacity, and manage schedules while controlling costs.
• Lead planning, despatch and administration teams; coach and conduct reviews; recruit and plan succession.
• Maintain training guides and operational procedures; act as escalation point for issues; resolve problems quickly.
• Collaborate with Driver Training, Quality, Technical Services and Account Management to maintain standards.
• Monitor KPI metrics (driver utilisation, movement volumes, service quality, costs) and review driver expenses and incentive programmes.
• Ensure safety and compliance; audits and regulatory requirements; provide cover for Head of Operations when absent.
